Beautiful Small Polished Cowrie Moneta "Money" Sea Shells

Size: approx. 1.5 – 3 cm each shell
It is most abundant in the Indian Ocean, and was usually collected in the Maldive Islands, in Sri Lanka, along the Malabar coast of India, in Borneo and on other East Indian islands, and in various parts of the African coast from Ras Hafun to Mozambique.
The cowry was accepted as a medium of exchange in large parts of Asia, Africa and the islands of the tropical Pacific until the late 19th century.
These lovely cowry shells have a smooth polished porcelain like finish.
The body of the shells have a golden/creamy coloured base with greenish/grey and yellowish markings. The openings of the shells are white.
Great for aquariums and terrariums. These lovely cowrie shells can also be used in crafts, resin art projects and more. They can be glued and drilled if desired.
*You may not receive the exact shells in the pictures, as being natural items the colours and sizes may vary. They are all beautiful!
*Caution: Choking Hazard - Due to the size of these shells they are not suitable for children under 5 years.
