NATURAL HIGHLY POLISHED NOBLE PEN SHELL
Pinna nobilis, common name the "noble pen shell" is a species of pen shell a large marine bivalve mollusk in the family Pinnidae the pen shells.
It has beautiful earthly colours topped with a gorgeous polished finish.
The rough outside of the Pen shell has been beautifully polished and displays rich earthy colours ranging from black to deep purples.
The shell also reveals wonderfully translucent pink/purple colours when held up to the light.
They inhabit calm warm seas living vertically with their narrow ends buried in the sand.
This species is a common to the waters of the Indo Pacific and its Latin name is ‘atrina vexillum born’.

Large: approx 20-24 cm long (7.8 - 9.4 inches)
